Child & Youth Counseling
Supporting Children & Young Adults Through Life’s Critical Transitions
Adolescence is a period of rapid development, emotional intensity, and social complexity. Navigating school pressures, family dynamics, peer relationships, and identity development can often leave youth feeling overwhelmed, misunderstood, or isolated.
At Northeast Family Services, our Youth & Adolescent Counseling program provides a safe, confidential, and structured environment where young people can process challenges, build resilience, and develop healthy coping mechanisms. Led entirely by Licensed Clinical Social Workers (LCSWs), our clinical approach combines evidence-based therapeutic techniques with deep empathy tailored to each child’s unique developmental stage.
Our Clinical Approach
We believe effective youth counseling requires a dual focus: honoring the teen’s need for individual trust and privacy while actively supporting the broader family unit. Our licensed therapists meet young people where they are, using evidence-based interventions designed specifically for children and adolescents.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT): Helping youth identify negative thought patterns, manage overwhelming emotions, and replace unhelpful behaviors with effective coping strategies.
Trauma-Informed Care: Providing safe, compassionate support for youth navigating grief, loss, family disruption, or past traumatic experiences.
Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT): Empowering adolescents to identify their personal strengths, set actionable goals, and build problem-solving skills for everyday life.
Family Systemic Integration: Facilitating structured family sessions when appropriate to improve parent-child communication, establish healthy boundaries, and restore home harmony.
